Program accreditation

In addition to acquiring institutional accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) has also obtained programmatic accreditation from several programmatic accrediting agencies for many of its degree and certificate programs. Programmatic accrediting agencies evaluate institutional programs to ensure that the quality of education or training programs meet the minimum standards established by the accrediting agency.

Below is a complete list of VCU’s programmatic accrediting agencies and accredited programs. Certain specialized accreditations are monitored by the U.S. Department of Education, and require SACSCOC reporting.
